Welcome to the 2006 Sailing Season

Along with all of our usual events including Stone Week & Cadet Week, we have lots of things going on this year including 5 National Championships and 7 Open Meetings! We hope that you will all support these events, and those that are sailing have a great time.

Stone Sailing Club supports the up and coming events of all fleets in sailing including club racing, open meetings & national events and is very proud to count many national champions within its membership. Our club sailing at weekends is for all levels of sailors from beginners to national champions and we welcome any new members to our club.

We have also introduced Cruiser Class racing over 4 weekends for 2006 with 3/4 races to count. This is in addition to the BJRC races and we hope to encourage many of our cruiser sailors to enter.

Stone Week is a major programme in our sailing calendar and yet again this year we welcome back the return of the Unicorn Nationals during this week. We will also be holding a cruiser class fleet if we have enough entries. Hopefully many of you will join us in this week.

This year sees some changes to our sailing programme including four 3 Race Days and Windward/Leeward courses for those that want to participate, with separate scratch races for those that don't.

We intend to hold small prize givings at the end of each handicap race in the upstairs bar on Sunday evenings. So after that long race to the Baffle and back or even round the 2 Islands, why don't you join us for a drink to see who just beat you on handicap! Spot prizes will be drawn on each of these races so even if you are not sure if you were in the top finishers, it will be worth joining us in the bar to see if you win our "spot prizes".

Along with all our changes, we will still be holding our very successful Thursday Evenings series which starts on Thursday 18th May through to 20th July. A great evening with the first race start at 19:00 hrs and followed by food in the upstairs bar courtesy of Laura's Kitchen. An evening not to be missed, both sailing & socially!

We also have a great social programme catering for all from Fish Suppers, Live Bands, Games Evenings and lots more....
